Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Earshot
|
...or, "The Jonathan-Centric Episode" |
Earshot is one of the all-time best episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. After fighting with a mouthless demon, Buffy inherits one of its traits: telepathy, or reading minds. It's all fun until she "overhears" a threat: someone plans to kill everyone the next day. Willow has another interrogation with Jonathan like that in Go Fish, but it isn't until his apologetic note is found in the school newspaper office that they are positive he's the killer. |

Buffy finds Jonathan in the clock tower with a gun - but he says he would never hurt anyone. He came up there to kill himself. Plot twist ahoy. Luckily, Buffy talks him out of it. Meanwhile, Xander finds the cafeteria lady putting rat poision in the lunch food. It's a very compelling and heartwrenching episode. Jonathan learns that there's always a better way and that you are never alone or ignored. Remember that. |
